We’re almost finished with 2017. As I sit here reflecting back on the year and all that has happened I knew I wanted to give you all an update. First I want to express how very appreciative I am of your friendship, purchases, comments etc. I was beyond grateful for the Happy Holly Dollar Day sales. You guys brought joy to my heart. And it was so needed after the year I’ve had.
I’ve mentioned in the forum on a few occasions that things have changed drastically for my family. I’ve been a stay at home since 2008. My husband has been blessed to have a great job that was able to meet our needs. But this year all that changed. He was hospitalized for a week in March after having a lot of swelling in his legs and some chest pains. After a lot of testing they diagnosed him with Chronic Kidney Disease. But shortly after that he lost his job and his health was declining rapidly.
I had to find full time work, worry about him and my kids, and still I wanted to try to design. In August I was working a temp. job and his health was still going in the wrong direction. We could NOT get the water weight off his legs and body. He’d gained almost 40 lbs in just fluids. He could barely get around with his legs being so swollen and tight. And the end of August he actually found a job, a great job, but when his labs came back even worse, he was admitted for another week during Labor Day weekend and was to start his job on the Tuesday after. When he got out, he wanted to still try to go to work. He pushed through the pain everyday and tried to make it. He was using a cane and I had to drive him to work before going to my job then pick him up in the evening after I got off. He’d come home and wouldn’t be able to bend his legs from all the swelling. He was getting dizzy spells and nausea every day due to ALL the meds they had him on.
My temp. job ended in October and he kept pushing but he was missing a lot of work due to his health and we decided in November it was just best for him not to work. Finally the meds have gotten the fluid off and he’s feeling better but he’s in Stage 5 CKD currently and we’re waiting for news about dialysis treatments and getting onto the kidney transplant list. I was able to find a full time job so we have some income coming in. And while we are doing okay, working full time and then coming home to my duties here is not leaving me much time to design. Truthfully not any time at all. I was glad that I worked on the Holly Dollar Days products in advance this year otherwise I wouldn’t have gotten anything new done.
With that being said, it is with a sad heart 💔 that I will be taking a hiatus from designing right now. Until we get his health situation worked out and figure out if he will get to go back to work again and in what capacity I have to work full time. I will still be in your inbox at least once a month for the Sunday $1 Specials. That’s all I can commit to right now so I hope that you guys will stick around. 🙂
I hope you understand why I haven’t been around as much and you’ll see me pop into the forums and Facebook too. I will be scrapping my own layouts, because I scrap very quickly so you’ll see me post those when I have time too. It’s just the time it takes to create a product worthy of selling is time consuming and I don’t want to just put out any old thing just to have new product coming out.
So now let’s get to the Retiring products. Plain Digital Wrapper is having a White Sale for the month of January. My sale is starting a few days early so head over to pick out what you want! All of my retiring products will be on sale for the month. Grab these while you can, because after the sale they will be gone for good!
Here’s a small view of what’s up for grabs. Kits as low as $1.50 and Bundles & Collabs are up to 80% off…these discounts are DEEP!!!!
****Just a tip, the easiest way to find ALL of my retiring products is to use the advanced search function to search by my Shop name and the word ‘retirement’ then all 31 products will show up******
In addition to the sale I wanted to share the NEW freebie for this year. This year there will be ONE freebie for ALL new subscribers to my newsletter, and I wanted to give you all a chance to grab it first. Of course I’ll still have freebies every so often in my newsletter too.
Hope you all have a great week!
Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this. Have a great day! ♥ Kiana
